My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Exceptional. Real. Even better than the first. Syn has tied with Bones as my favorite novel anti-hero. Pick it up and devour it. You will laugh, cry, and love it!

Wow, what can I that hasn't already been said about this book? This book enthralled me to the point that I almost missed my company holiday party.

Although the first half of the book with Jack-less, it didn't matter. Pete is strong, and carried the first half of this book very well. I really appreciated the show of emotion from her regarding her loss of Jack. She hated him, missed him, and cried for him...the way a woman mourns the death of her lover. Her pain radiated from the pages, and although it was heartbreaking, her drive to continue with her life was astonishing.

Jackie is the bad ex-boyfriend that the new boyfriend has to worry about, even after death. His return to the book made me so incredibly happy, that no matter how much crap comes out of his mouth, the way he loves Pete was crystal clear.

Jack and Pete are no walk in the park. Their story isn't this epic story that will go down in history as the most romantic and mesmerizing. What they have is real...raw...dark....but it's love. I wouldn't have it any other way.
